Use of drones in sugar cane cultivation in Cameroon

Between August 2023 and April 2024, we had the opportunity to work on more than 4,500 hectares of sugar cane plantations in Cameroon. This project, carried out in partnership with SOSUCAM, a subsidiary of the Somdia Group, marks our first official steps in the Central African region.

One of the advances of this project is the innovative use of drones in the ripening processing of sugar cane in Cameroon. By combining cutting-edge technologies with our agricultural expertise, we have been able to precisely process sugarcane. This approach made it possible to have better homogeneity of treatment and to plan optimal harvests at the appropriate time in line with the needs of the factory. By using drones, we were able to access difficult to access areas, particularly curbs.
